How to reconstitute
- Withdraw the calculated volume of bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe.
- Inject the BAC water slowly down the side wall of the vial — never aim at the powder.
- Swirl gently (do NOT shake) until the lyophilised peptide is fully dissolved and clear.
- Store reconstituted vial refrigerated at 2–8 °C; use within 28 days.
Practical tips
- Most U-100 insulin syringes have 100 units = 1 mL. The "units" output shows what mark to draw to.
- Round to the nearest half-unit. For doses below 5 units consider using a smaller-volume reconstitution.
- Use bacteriostatic water (0.9 % benzyl alcohol) for multi-dose vials. Sterile water for single use only.
